NON-CONNECTORS

Letters of the 're' group, just like the 'daal' group, are again all non-connectors. For example, let’s look at the letters ‘re’ and ‘alif’ to create the word “raa” (रा) here:

We also know that ‘alif’ itself, is a non-connector. So let’s take the example shown above a step further. Here’s how the word “raaz”(राज़), meaning “secret”, is written:

Let’s look at a few more examples now starting with the word - “raajaa” (राजा), meaning "king". Here’s how it’s written:

Above: ‘re’ + ‘alif’ + ‘jiim’ + ‘alif’ = "raajaa"

In the example above, ‘jiim’ being a connector takes upon its short-form in connecting with ‘alif’ as we’ve seen in earlier units.

Let’s look at another example now. This time, the word - “aazaad” (आज़ाद), meaning "free":

Here’s yet another example for you. The word - “baazaar” (बाज़ार), meaning "market":

Above: ‘be’ + ‘alif’ + ‘ze’ + ‘alif’ + ‘re’ = "baazaar"
